UGC NET December 2025 exam schedule released: Check dates, official NTA notice issued here

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the UGC NET December 2025 exam dates, set from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode across India. This examination determines eligibility for Assistant Professor positions, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and PhD admissions in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates planning to appear should complete registration between October 7 and November 7, 2025, and verify all personal details carefully. NTA has also opened a correction window for minor updates.
UGC NET exam scheduleThe UGC NET December 2025 examination is scheduled to begin on December 31, 2025, and will conclude on January 7, 2026. The exam will be conducted in multiple shifts, which will vary depending on the subject and the location of the test center. Candidates will be assigned their respective exam centers through the City Intimation Slip, which will be released approximately 10 days before the start of the examination.

This system ensures that candidates are informed in advance about their exam venue and shift, allowing them to plan their travel and preparation accordingly.

Registration detailsThe registration process for the UGC NET December 2025 exam will begin on October 7, 2025, and continue until November 7, 2025. During this period, candidates must complete their online application on the official NTA UGC NET portal, providing accurate personal and academic information. After the registration period closes, a correction window will be open from November 10 to November 12, 2025, allowing candidates to make necessary changes or corrections to their submitted application forms.

UGC NET admit card release The admit card for the UGC NET December 2025 exam will be released approximately 10 days before the start of the examination on the official NTA portal. Candidates must download the admit card online, as no physical copies will be sent by post.

The admit card contains essential information including the candidate’s name, roll number, exam date, shift, and allotted exam center. It also lists important instructions that candidates must follow on the day of the exam, such as reporting time, permissible items, and COVID-19 safety guidelines if applicable.
