Steeped in history, Stroud's legacy as a wool industry hub lives on through its historic mills and golden stone buildings. Often dubbed "the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds," it's a place where community spirit shines through in its diverse population and lively festivals.

The town is extremely popular among the tourists as well. The Woodchester Mansion is a striking Victorian Gothic building from the 1800s that was mysteriously left unfinished in 1873.

One of the tourists who visited the mansion wrote on TripAdvisor forum: "Gorgeous house and grounds with wonderful staff who made the trip really insightful, fun and enjoyable! Would absolutely come again!"

Another one wrote: "This place is brilliant , you can. Walk round the grounds take a picnic with dogs also allowed. But not in the house. We had food after. Which was ok the poor guy was working on his own so quite a wait. , I would definitely go back again."
